LIVINGSTON, New Jersey (WABC) -- A woman was discovered dead by a worker at golf course in an upscale neighborhood of Livingston on Tuesday.

The woman's body was found near the roadway of the exclusive Cedar Hill Golf Course.

Authorities say it appears the body had been there for days.

According to a resident who lives nearby, the grounds are well-maintained so the discovery of a body comes as a shock.

The woman may have been wrapped in blankets. Authorities are checking databases for missing persons, but so far they have not been able to identify the victim.

The victim's cause and manner of death are pending the results of an autopsy.
