BAY CITY, MI — An autopsy has been conducted on the body of a woman found dead in her Baytown Family Neighborhood apartment, but police are still awaiting word on what caused her death.

Police at about 6 p.m. on Sept. 17 responded to the woman’s residence in the 1200 block of North Jackson Street after her friends hadn’t heard from her. They entered the unit and found the 43-year-old resident deceased, said Deputy Public Safety Director Rod Schanck.

No one else was present in the unit, Schanck said.

Autopsy results did not indicate the woman was the victim of foul play, Schanck said. Her body bore no bullet or stab wounds, nor did it show evidence of blunt-force trauma, Schanck said.

The woman, a mother of one son, had been dead for more than 24 hours, Schanck said.
