Our communities have been busy this week celebrating creativity through art, film and music.

First, I attended Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition’s 12×12 Arts Fundraiser and loved seeing all of the talented artists who call our state home.

The other part I love about this show is mingling with all the artists and supporters — artists in all participated in the show and sale, and 700 people attended.

Held last Thursday at the OKC Farmers Public Market, the show featured 12-inch by 12-inch works that included paintings, mixed media pieces and sculptures.

As of Tuesday, the 12×12 Art Fundraiser so far had raised $77,060 for OVAC, with more art still on sale through Oct. 19 on the coalition’s website. Funds raised go to OVAC’s programs and services that ensure Oklahoma is a place where vis
