DALLAS — A woman was fatally shot Tuesday inside a Dallas shopping center off I-20, police say.

Officers responded to a shooting call shortly after 1 p.m. in the 2500 block of West Wheatland Road and determined a woman had been shot by an unknown suspect, officials say. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and took the woman to a local hospital, where she later died, police say.

The woman has not been identified as of Tuesday afternoon. Suspect information has also not been released by the police.

WFAA chopper footage showed police vehicles responding outside a PetSmart store in the Wheatland Towne Crossing shopping center. Investigators were going in and out of the store until they cleared the scene.
