MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Middletown Superior Court jury found 42-year-old William Bigaud, Jr. of Cromwell guilty of the murder of his children's mother on June 8, 2020.

According to a release from the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice, evidence shown at trial showed that Bigaud stabbed the mother of his children to death on June 8, 2020 before fleeing the state.

Bigaud was arrested two days later after leading police on a high-speed chase in LaGrange, Georgia, according to the release.

Bigaud has been found guilty of murder, home invasion, first-degree burglary and risk of injury to a child. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 8.
