The relationship clearly didn’t end well between the former lawyer for Birmingham’s water utility and its new leaders.

Mark Parnell, the longtime lawyer for what was the Birmingham Water Works Board, was fired by new leaders of the agency with a new name Central Alabama Water.

Parnell then slapped back with a lawsuit in September demanding to paid out of his contract, which was worth millions.

Now there’s a battle of insults between Parnell’s lawyer and the water board’s newest senior attorney as the case awaits its day in court.
