DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Durham Police Department is hosting National Night Out.

Fifty-two neighborhoods across the Bull City will host a variety of block parties, cookouts, youth activities, and anti-crime campaigns.

You can also head over to the police headquarters on East Main Street from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

People who spoke to ABC11 said they were in a good mood and that this was a great opportunity to connect with the community.

At DPD headquarters, there was music, food and various tents where people could learn more about community resources.

"To see police officers in this light ... it's like a great thing," said Rory Robson, who attended the Durham event though he lives in Raleigh.
