CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - According to the American Cancer Society, about 316,950 people will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer this year.
Early detection increases the chance for survival, which is why annual mammograms are so important.

Women like Kathey Dailey credit the project with saving her life.
It was stomach pain that first brought her to the emergency room in 2023.
“We did x-rays, we did CT scans, we did contrast CT scans, and by six o’clock an oncologist came in,” Dailey said. “She said, ‘Have they talked to you?’ And I said, ‘No.’ She says, ‘Well, I’m sorry to let you know you have cancer.’ And I just started crying.”
