One of the 94 people arrested the night of an anti-ICE protest in June is suing Las Vegas police and some of its officers over excessive use of force, wrongful arrest, fabrication of evidence and violating First Amendment protections.

According to the lawsuit filed Tuesday, Kathleen Cavalaro arrived in downtown Las Vegas at around 10 p.m. on June 11, watching as protestors dispersed and fog from tear gas hung in the air. Around an hour before, Metro Police wrote on Facebook that they had declared an unlawful assembly at Las Vegas Boulevard and Clark Avenue and issued a dispersal order.

After criticizing other officers in riot gear, Cavalaro attempted to pass a group of around 50 officers while looking for a larger group of protestors, according to the filing. The group allegedly told her
