SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- People could be feeling a little uneasy about air travel at the moment.

Earlier this week, staffing issues at some airports in the country led to delays.

In fact, an air traffic control tower in California had no staff for several hours.

This all comes as the federal government shutdown stretches on.

Air traffic controllers are among the essential workers who are expected to keep working without a regular paycheck.

KELOLAND News talked to travelers about what they think about flying right now.

Cathy Cooper was headed back home to Tennessee Tuesday morning.

She arrived in Sioux Falls last week after the federal government had shut down.

Cooper told KELOLAND News she felt mostly at ease about air travel.
