WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (WFLA) — New markers are in place to address issues with noise and violence on Lake Winterset in Winter Haven.
Larry Gohn is in charge of installing the markers, an effort to keep boats from anchoring outside homes.
"I didn't think it would ever get to that point," he described. "It was calm at first; it was local people. Now, it's out-of-town people come and hang here."
Frustrated homeowners previously told 8 On Your Side about boaters blaring music, ignoring no trespassing signs and using bushes as a bathroom. The issue culminated in a fight that led to multiple arrests.
"It's gotten worse and worse over the last several years," homeowner Scott Miller said. "I just want to be able to enjoy my own property."
