EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The East Grand Rapids City Commission voted 4-3 Monday night to approve the final concept plan for Gaslight Investors' plan to transform a long-underutilized plot of land in town — advancing the decades-long effort to the next phase.
Major changes from the last iteration of the plan include the removal of a building that would have stood at the end of Bagley in favor of what is called the central social hub.
"It’s an area where the community has expressed continued desire to have something of that nature integrated," East Grand Rapids City Manager Shea Charles told News 8. "As the developer looked at it, they ultimately settled on a design that provides that opportunity."
