A two-alarm house fire on South River Road closed streets in the area Tuesday afternoon.
The fire was first reported at 2:13 p.m., according to dispatch reports. At least eight Salem Fire Department vehicles are responding to the scene.
The fire was reported as “fully involved” at a house located at 3308 S. River Road.
There was one person home at the time and got out safely, Assistant Salem Fire Chief Brian Carrara said. No injuries have been reported.
Firefighters got to the scene at 2:21 p.m. and started a defensive response, which got the fire under control by 2:38 p.m., according to Carrara. Thirty one firefighters and 15 units responded to the call.
There was no further information about where the fire started or how it spread through the home.
