Hassan Sapry, the 27-year-old Iraqi immigrant who was found guilty last month of killing another man in the man’s Laconia home in April 2019, was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without parole.
He will appeal his case to the state Supreme Court.
After Sapry was sentenced, the prosecution team from state and local police and the Attorney General’s Office shook hands outside the courtroom.
“Today’s sentence delivers justice for (Guzman) and his loved ones, who have endured years of pain since his tragic and senseless murder,” said Attorney General John Formella said in a press release.
After nearly two weeks of testimony, a jury on Sept. 3 found Sapry guilty on all counts for the murder of Wilfred Guzman Sr., 58, who was killed on April 18, 2019, inside his home at 57 Blueberry Lane.
