DAYTON, OHIO (WDTN)- Farmers have been out harvesting their crops that they have waited months to grow and produce fruits, but the yields may not be as high this year. After a rainy start to the summer, the well has dried up in much of the Miami Valley, with most of the area under a moderate drought early into October, and a severe drought in the most northern parts of the area. Dayton has seen about 3.7 inches below normal precipitation since the beginning of August and while not all areas received much rain over the last 24 hours, it was welcomed.
