LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Central Kentucky experienced a wet Tuesday, but city leaders are preparing for the rain to turn to snow and ice in a few months.

At the Environmental Quality and Public Works Committee regular meeting, Streets and Roads Director Rob Allen presented this school year’s snow and ice removal plan. It included several changes, including an increase in trucks, routes, and partnerships to ensure driver safety.

However, at the top of several committee members’ minds was whether school buses can navigate those routes after inclement weather last winter proved otherwise.

In January, WKYT reported that students at Fayette County Public Schools missed an entire week of regular instruction due to poor road conditions.
