The cities of Palmer, Wasilla, and Houston were voting on who their next city council members would be. Wasilla resident Alex Fonov was more than ready to get into the voting booth. “I know who I’m voting for on a personal level, so that’s why I came here with a for sure vote. There’s no question in my mind,” Fonov shared. He likes to study up on what’s on the ballot and feels it’s good to know what’s ahead before heading into the polls. “On the city level, I think there’s no shenanigans. So I trust the system, but it’s important for me to vote,” he explained. Benito Gamboa made up his mind and was quick to cast his vote. “I’m tired of the politicians we've got. We got to get change where they want to help the people, not help themselves,” Gamboa said. H
