ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Abilene Christian University (ACU) has students from all over the world, but there is an increasing number of students who call the Big Country home.

ACU credits community programs and partnerships, scholarship opportunities, and other events around the area for attracting students who live nearby.

Dr. Tamara Long, the Vice President of Enrollment and Student Engagement at ACU, said, "We've had the highest enrollment from the Big Country than we've had in a long time, in likely 20 years."

Dr. Long shared that this year, there are more than 120 students from the Abilene area enrolled at ACU, including her own children. Long credits the many opportunities available to ACU students.
