COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - On Wednesday, hundreds of teachers with School District 11 are planning to go on strike.

The teachers’ union, the Colorado Springs Education Association, voted on the one-day strike back in May . It’s related to the district replacing their contract, the Master Agreement, with a handbook, which the union said is not legally binding.

“They’ve taken positions that are not in the best interest of our teachers or our students and are harmful to kids,” said Kevin Coughlin, the president of CSEA.

The district said it believes the strike will do more harm than good.
