NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio -- Several residents have expressed opposition to a proposed charter amendment that would prohibit council members from holding appointed positions with other governments.

By doing so, they have voiced support for Paul Marnecheck , who may have to step down as City Council president or quit his job as commissioner of economic development with the City of Brook Park if voters approve the amendment.

The charter amendment will appear as Issue 25 on the Nov. 4 ballot. Early voting starts today (Oct. 7).

Few if any residents have expressed public support for the charter amendment. No one has accused Marnecheck of illegal or unethical behavior.
