OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The last time Stephanie Fleming stepped into a high school classroom was more than 30-years ago. She still has those first day jitters.
“I’m a little nervous,” Fleming said. “But, I’m excited.”
It’s her first day of class at the Goodwill’s Adult Education Center where she and her classmates are working toward their high school diploma.
She needs an additional five credits to get her diploma and thought now was the right time.
“I wanna further my education,” She said. “I’m almost 50; it’s never too late to grow.”
Trinity Shakespeare is one of Fleming’s classmates, she’s about to graduate and has big plans.
“I want to have my own business in retail,” she said.
Based on Goodwill’s experience, diploma can open more doors for students than a GED. Their program was
