As NATO countries strengthen their defences following numerous breaches by Russian drones and aircraft in recent weeks, the eye-watering costs of missile defence systems and interceptors are sparking concerns about NATO's capacity to withstand major attacks. ‌

Just weeks ago, Poland and its NATO allies shot down up to 19 Shahed-style drones that violated Polish - and therefore, NATO - airspace via the country's frontiers with Russia and Belarus. ‌
