CALDWELL — For Yulieta Rodriguez, the abuse inflicted on her by former partner Sequoia Adams will always be visceral.

“I was crying and gasping. He picked me up by my hair and bit me, he dragged me to his truck,” Rodriguez, 23, told the crowd assembled Monday afternoon in Caldwell’s Justice Park, as the Canyon County Board of Commissioners and sheriff’s office recognized October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month. “He said I was going to be sorry, as much as I was screaming that I already was.”
