BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Voters in Louisiana will soon see a slightly different look of future ballots.

The state is moving to a closed party primary. That means Democrats and Republicans vote separately. The Louisiana Legislature implemented Closed-Party Primaries through Act 1 of the 2024 First Extraordinary Session.

While the new way of voting won’t be in effect for the upcoming Oct. 11 election, you can still find voters educating themselves about what they can expect at polling places.
