CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. (WCTV) - A 25-year-old man and a baby just under 11 months old were injured in a car wreck near Shadeville Road and Atkinson Road on Tuesday afternoon.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say the crash happened at about 4 p.m., after the SUV veered off the north shoulder of Shadeville Road and overturned, “collid[ing] with a concrete church sign and several trees.”

The baby was ejected onto the north shoulder, still in a car seat, per FHP. The SUV then caught fire.

The driver was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital by helicopter with critical injuries, and the 11-month-old was also taken to TMH with minor injuries.

After the crash, Shadeville Road was closed in both directions near Atkinson Road for two hours.
