STAR, Idaho — A major item on the City of Star’s council agenda has been put on hold. The debate over whether to annex nearby Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land won’t be happening just yet.

In September, residents of Star received a public hearing notice regarding the incorporation of a piece of BLM property into the city limits. But according to Mayor Trevor Chadwick, the opportunity to discuss the proposal has now been postponed until further notice.

“If we annex it in, we're going to make this a public space so it can't be developed on,” Chadwick said.

The City of Star is hoping to annex approximately 1,400 acres of BLM land located off Highway 16.
