SHREVEPORT, La. — National Night Out brought neighbors across Shreveport together Tuesday night in the name of safety, unity and community pride.
Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux, Police Chief Wayne Smith, Fire Chief Clarence Reese and other city leaders rode a SporTran bus to visit several block parties and connect with residents.
More than 140 block parties took place across the city, each one filled with food, music and conversation.
The event aims to build stronger relationships between neighbors and first responders and remind the community that everyone plays a role in keeping Shreveport safe.
Organizers say National Night Out continues to be a success, bringing people together through music, food and a shared sense of unity.
