IOWA CITY, Iowa —
Iowa quarterback Mark Gronowski is back at practice for the Hawkeyes. Whether he plays against Wisconsin remains to be seen, but Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz was optimistic Tuesday.
"It's been encouraging," Ferentz said. "He's gotten some good work in. A week ago, I wasn't so optimistic. We'll take it as it goes this week."
Iowa plays Wisconsin Saturday at 6 p.m. on FS1. Gronowski, who has emerged as a reliable leader for the team, injured his knee on Sept. 27 in the fourth quarter of the Indiana loss and left the game. Backup Hank Brown went 5-13 for 48 yards and an interception. This past week, redshirt freshman quarterback Jeremy Hecklinski has also taken reps at practice and is being talked about as an option under center.
