BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- A Roebuck man called CBS 42 saying trash has piled up on the side of roads in his community, creating an eyesore.

The Birmingham City Council said illegal dumping is a problem in almost all of Birmingham's 99 neighborhoods. Daniel McCrory said he’s never seen the problem as bad as it is right now in the 20 years he has lived in Roebuck.

“It makes me sick just to see it," McCrory said. "People just come through here and just dump trailers."

The issue is not unique to Roebuck. All over Birmingham, people dump trash on the sides of roads in fields and secluded areas. It’s an issue Birmingham City Councilor Clinton Woods knows well.
