OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - An ordinary alley in Midtown is getting a major makeover — transforming from a simple parking lot into a community gathering space.
“When the weather is beautiful like this and the lights are on it can be magical,” said Matt Oberst, Blackstone BID Manager.
The alley , located between 39th and 40th streets behind the north side of Farnam businesses, now features a canopy of lights. Oberst says it allows the space to shift from a working alley during the day into a lively event spot at night.
“This is one of the most creative spots that I’ve seen in Omaha,” said Mayor John Ewing. “And I appreciate the creativity and the opportunity to have some fun in this neighborhood and bring people together.”
The Blackstone Alley project has been in the works for three years. Le
