Authorities were investigating after an elderly woman was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday afternoon outside a Joliet Walmart, police said.
At approximately 2:18 p.m., officers with the Joliet Police Department responded to Walmart, 2424 W. Jefferson St., for a woman who had been struck by a car. According to police, the incident began when a 37-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Cruze backed out of a parking spot and collided with the passenger side of a Ford Escape. The second vehicle was stopped in a lane waiting for another vehicle to back out.
