The former clinical director of the Hobart Clinic, psychiatrist Dr Hannah Lake, is part of a last-minute push for the institution to be given a reprieve before it closes its doors at the end of next week.

The Hobart Clinic, which employs 100 people, will close its inpatient site by the end of October, citing financial woes.

Dr Lake is leading a team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, allied health professionals and other stakeholders, including health union HACSU and corporate advisers the Australian Medical Association in the bid.
