SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — An East Valley animal rescue is stepping up to help after a video of abandoned dogs in Yuma went viral on social media.

Foothills Animal Rescue said the viral TikToks showed an animal abandonment case involving 30 dogs down in southwestern Arizona. As a result, the Humane Society of Yuma ran out of space, and Foothills stepped in to help.

The Scottsdale rescue said their team made 400-mile round-trip to Yuma to bring back 14 pets, including 12 dogs and two cats, including 11 that were directly related to the abandonment case.

According to the rescue, the pets are now getting vet care, food and behavioral support. Once they get cleared by veterinarians, they’ll be up for adoption.
