Kangpokpi, October 07 2025: The Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU), Sadar Hills, has announced the suspension of its proposed 48-hour economic blockade along National Highway-2, which was scheduled to commence from the midnight of October 7 .

The decision came following an assurance from the Government of India, conveyed through the district administrator concerned, to take immediate steps toward resolving the alleged abduction case of Kamginlen Chongloi and to strengthen security preparedness across the 'buffer zones' .

CoTU stated that while the blockade is lifted in good faith, it reserves the right to reimpose the economic blockade on NH-2 without further notice if the authorities concerned fail to deliver on their commitments within the stipulated time frame.
