Former Collingwood player Shannon Cox has been jailed for more than 10 years over the death of two women in a horrific highway crash.
Cox, 39, was driving a Toyota Prado that crashed head-on into a Suzuki Ignis in Cooljarloo , 170km north of Perth , in June 2024.
The ex-footballer was travelling south when he drifted into oncoming traffic on Brand Hwy, hitting a truck and then the hatchback of longtime friends Coral Seinor, 83, and Thelma Clausen, 82.
The pair died at the scene.
Former AFL footballer Cox, who had his 12-year-old daughter in the front seat, had taken meth in the days before the crash and had hardly slept.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter in March.
In Perth’s District Court on Wednesday he was jailed for 10 years and six months.
