Qantas is bracing for the fallout from a major cyber attack that exposed the personal details of millions of customers, with hackers threatening to leak the stolen data unless their ransom demands are met.
The airline is one of 39 companies that have been given until Friday to start negotiating a ransom with cybercriminal group Scattered Lapsus$ Hunters, which this week claimed to have stolen a large cache of data by targeting customers of software firm Salesforce.
Along with dozens of companies, the hackers have also given Salesforce until the end of the week to negotiate a ransom.
