AKRON, Ohio – Akron Mayor Shammas Malik and city officials cut the ribbon on the renovated Reservoir Community Center on Tuesday.

Located at 1735 Hillside Terrace, the community center has undergone $10.7 million in renovations, according to the city. American Rescue Plan Act dollars funded the project. The renovated community center and grounds will offer more space for community gatherings and programs, according to the city.

Updates to the community center include a new building entrance, multi-purpose/meeting room, kitchen, art room, game room and a gathering space. The building’s existing restrooms were also renovated, according to the city. Outdoor renovations included adding gardens, improving play areas, installing seating and improving walkways, along with adding a fire pit area
