HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Cash prizes are up for grabs at a new singing competition you can enter from the comfort of your own home.

The first-ever Na Pua Mele o Hawaii Song Contest is looking to find the state’s best high school vocalist.

Organizers say songs can be recorded in your bedroom, bathroom or wherever you’re comfortable and can be a traditional Hawaiian mele, an original or a cover.

The top 20 will get to attend a workshop with the multi-time Grammy nominee Amy Hanaialii in December.

From there, the top 3 will get a chance to perform with Hanaialii at the Blue Note in Waikiki on Dec. 15.

First place will go home with $1,500, second place will win $1,000 and third place will go home with $500.
