Bengaluru: In the backdrop of severe criticism for his apparent support and appreciation for the advocate who attempted to throw a shoe at the Chief Justice of India, BR Gavai, former IPS officer and BJP leader Bhaskar Rao has submitted an apology and also clarified that he had not insulted anyone with his earlier statement.
Rao, who is a former Police Commissioner of Bengaluru, had called the advocate Rakesh Kishore’s act brave and worth appreciation.
Having received criticism from various fronts, including the Congress, Rao, in a tweet on his personal ‘X’ account on Wednesday afternoon, stated, “My reaction was one of aghast and shock that a person, despite being so highly educated, Aged and experienced such an action knowing fully the Consequences of a Terribly and Legally Wrong Act.
