In a show of support to the federal government and the department of defense, the Trumbull County Planning Commission and Hubbard Township Zoning Commission met with township trustees to discuss adopting a resolution that would make clear the criteria for land uses surrounding the Youngstown Air Reserve Station.

"The small bash that's inside this green area they called that the bird and air strike hazard area and so there are development standards that are written into the template document that apply to land uses moving into the future," Julie Green, Director of the Trumbull County Planning Commission said.

The goal is to create a military compatibility area but also maintain local control in the future.
