Downtown Hickory will be alive with food vendors, music and artists as Oktoberfest returns for the 38th year Oct. 10 through 12.

According to a social media post, the Downtown Hickory Development Association expects 60,000 people to attend the three-day festival.

This year’s event will feature 10 bands and musicians, a children’s area and the return of the castle of cans, a fundraiser for multiple Catawba County area nonprofit organizations.

Oktoberfest will begin at 5 p.m. Friday and continue until 11 p.m. that night. The festival will continue Saturday and run from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and conclude Sunday, running from noon to 5 p.m.
