During the Mason County Finance, Personnel and Rules Committee meeting on Tuesday, committee members approved sending several considerations to the full board of commissioners, including a request from the Mason County Land Bank Authority to advance funds as needed for a MI Neighborhood grant.

“Michigan State Housing Development Authority has announced a new round of MI Neighborhood funding. This would allow us to provide from up to five single family homes. The Mason County Land Bank Authority has five lots in their possession, currently. What it would provide is $100,000 in assistance per unit,” said Andrew Kmetz, Mason County Treasure/MCLB Chair.

The grant would focus on 120 percent or less than AMI purchasers with at least one home requiring 60 percent AMI or less, helping to set up
