A teenage boy has been arrested in relation to the fatal shooting of an underworld figure earlier this year.

Emergency services rushed to the Woodville Rd in the western Sydney suburb of Granville just after 5pm on May 25 to reports of a shooting.

When police arrived, they found a Toyota Hilux ute riddled with bullets with two men inside — aged 25 and 32 — both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Two other men in the car were not hurt.

Police allege that as the Toyota Hilux turned onto Woodville Rd, a group in a nearby a Mercedes fired several rounds at it, hitting the driver and front seat passenger.

Dawood Zakaria, 32, died in the shooting.

The 25-year-old was rushed to hospital.
