Victorian Police have appealed for public assistance after releasing footage of vandals glorifying Hamas through graffiti on the anniversary of October 7.

Police are working to identify three masked individuals responsible for spraypainting pro-Hamas messages across Melbourne businesses.

The acts of vandalism occurred on the second anniversary of the October 7 attacks that claimed 1,200 Israeli lives and left around 250 people taken hostage.

Graffiti included phrases such as “Glory to Hamas” and “Oct 7 do it again,” sparking fear and outrage among Jewish Australians and the broader community.

“There is absolutely no place in our society for antisemitic or hate-based symbols and behaviour,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
