Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after he inaugurated the Navi Mumbai International Airport and other connectivity projects on Wednesday, launched a sharpened attack on the Congress, asking it as to why the UPA government led by it in 2008 went soft on Pakistan after the 26/11 attack bled India’s financial capital.

The Prime Minister made a special reference to senior Congress leader and former Union Home Minister P Chidambaram’s recent interview in which the latter claimed that the then UPA government decided not to retaliate against Pakistan after the dastardly terror attacks due to intense international pressure, as well as the External Affairs Ministry's stance.
