Australia captain Pat Cummins is set to miss the first Ashes Test against England.
The Aussies are expected to be without their talismanic all-rounder when the highly-anticipated series begins on November 21 at Perth Stadium.
With the fifth and final Test starting just six weeks later on January 4, there are fears Cummins will be ruled out for the entire series.
Although Cricket Australia are yet to officially confirm the news, it is widely reported that recent scans showed a long-term back injury is yet to heal.
Cummins has not played since the 3-0 series win over the West Indies in July, before missing the recent white-ball matches against South Africa and New Zealand.
