One former Bruins forward made his presence known in his first game with the Penguins.
Justin Brazeau scored twice in Pittsburgh’s 3-0 Opening Night win against the New York Rangers on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.
Brazeau’s first goal came in the closing seconds of the first period on the backhand when he was left all alone in front of the net to give Pittsburgh a 1-0 lead. His second — an empty-netter — came late in the third period.
The Penguins signed Brazeau to a two-year deal this summer. The former Bruins forward spent parts of two seasons with in Boston after he signed an AHL contract with Providence in 2021. Brazeau made his NHL debut during the 2023-24 season and had seven points in 19 games.
