The National Weather Service issued a coastal flood advisory at 5:21 a.m. on Wednesday valid for Thursday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. for Ocean and Burlington counties.

“Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways,” adds the weather service. “Additional minor coastal flooding is possible with the morning high tides into the weekend. Minor coastal flooding may linger on the back bays after the time of high tide.”

“At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways.
