Autumn brings with it lots of traditions: pumpkin-spiced lattes, rewatching Gilmore Girls and digging out your favourite jumper from the back of the wardrobe.

Going for an autumn walk is another seasonal ritual beloved by many. It’s a chance to appreciate nature’s transition from summer to winter and make the most of the changing colours of the trees.

In fact, according to Forestry England this year autumn foliage is set to be particularly spectacular due to summer’s record-breaking sunshine and warm temperatures.

Andrew Smith, Director of Forestry England’s Westonbirt, The National Arboretum says:"We've had a very warm and sunny summer, and that helps trees build up the sugars in their leaves that create those amazing autumn colours.
