Skeletal remains were discovered by two fishermen along the Ohio River in Cannelton on September 29.

Indiana State Police say among the six bones were a skull, a lower jaw with several teeth intact, and a femur.

Dental work will hopefully determine who the remains belong to.

The bones are being kept at the coroner’s office in Perry County until an anthropologist can extract DNA to identify if the remains belong to a man or a woman.
